Oakland Mall 2/11/15

What started as a routine visit to Oakland Mall had me discovering that part of the JCPenney wing is under construction!

No idea what they're putting down there, but the entire side where the United Artists Theatres/Steve & Barry's/that other store was is blocked off.

Right across the way, we got more construction with Field & Stream setting up shop in the lot which formerly hosted Circuit City/Classic Auto Showcase.

There's also a new Twin Peaks restaurant coming up about half a mile away at Stevenson Highway...not sure if they'll have that Northern Exposure deli across the street.

Here are just a few shots at Twelve Oaks Mall, located in Novi, about 20-30 minutes outside of Detroit. Twelve Oaks is proof that malls aren't dead; what matters is location, location, location. Almost every time I go near this mall, the whole area is busy!

I have plans to take some more pics the next time I stop by Twelve Oaks...possibly with a non-digital camera.

Macy's of Northland Center - 2/6/15

The Northland Center Mall in Southfield, MI, just outside of the Detroit city limit, is going through a rough patch right now. Target has already closed as of January 31st, with Macy's, the mall's only remaining anchor, scheduled to close in April. Here's a few pics I snagged at Macy's. I'll put some more up from the mall and Target later.
